Shiamak Davar founded VICTORY ARTS FOUNDATION in 2004 to provide a platform to address social causes and concerns. VICTORY makes dance available across age, gender, caste, class and ability; without prejudice. VICTORY endeavors to use the power of dance as a therapeutic medium to bring joy to the underprivileged, physically challenged, mentally challenged, visually impaired, deaf and mute and makes dance a viable and respected career option. VICTORY also provides educational and medical support.
Through its various programs, VICTORY has made dance acceptable and made people understand its power to educate, entertain, empower, enlighten and enable. VICTORY has touched the lives of over 15,000 individuals across over 280 NGOs/Institutes in 13 cities in India.

Dance Classes at NGOs
Around the world, Dance Therapy is being used to heal and empower people from all walks of life. Research findings support significant improvements in motor performance, reduced stress, anxiety and depression levels, pain management and body image, self - esteem, self - expression, emotional stability and an overall sense of well-being – all thanks to the impact of dance therapy.
VICTORY’s Dance Classes at NGOs program brings the power of Dance As Therapy to NGOs working with a wide variety of underprivileged groups across India:
Each class ranges in duration between 45 minutes and one hour, and follows a set structure that has proven to maximize the value that participants get from their participation in the program.
Dance for Good
DANCE FOR GOOD is an innovative, viral volunteering program, which spreads joy to the old, sick or underprivileged through the power of dance performance. Volunteer dancers (The Shiamak Davar Dance Company, The Shiamak Dance Teams, Victory Dance Team, Victory on Wheels and / or student groups) put on inspiring and entertaining performances for people in old age homes, NGOs, hospitals and destitute homes to put smiles on their faces and bring happiness into their lives thereby proving to be therapeutic.

The program works in two ways, the performers get a chance to DANCE at various platforms in turn doing GOOD for the community.
VICTORY Dance Teams
The VICTORY Dance Team program addresses the psycho-social, physical, logistical and financial barriers which are faced by the ones with special needs and underprivileged individuals so that they can reach their goals in dance. As members of the VICTORY Dance Team, talented individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds are provided the training, performance platforms and opportunities to make a career out of dancing to support their ongoing livelihood.
There are two VICTORY Dance Teams:
1. Victory Dance Team (VDT) – Individuals from underprivileged background and hearing impaired
2. Victory on Wheels (VOW) – Mixed group of Individuals on wheelchairs, crutches, calipers, with down syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism, epeart syndrome, polio, etc.
Through special training and performances, the VICTORY Dance Team (VDT) program works towards the following objectives:
Zenia hasn’t had an easy journey. Being a person with special needs and on a wheelchair, she has had to face several challenges. Zenia loves music and dance, and is quite adept with computers too. She passed her NIOS and MS-CIT course. She had always dreamt of working for her own school and with her perseverance, today she is working with ADAPT (formerly known as The Spastics Society of India, Bandra). Confident and raring to go ahead in life in spite of all the challenges, Zenia is a part of the Shiamak’s Victory On Wheels Team. She is truly inspirational and was awarded ‘Dr. Batra’s Positive Health Award 2012’
Kamal joined VICTORY as a part of the Bhavya Kaul Scholarship VICTORY class, Delhi.
His father passed away and his mother is a housewife. With two elder sisters, the family needed Kamal to be their support. His passion with his consistent hard work and dedication found direction at VICTORY and today he is a part of The Shiamak Davar Dance Company! Kamal is an inspiration for all VICTORY students for breaking the barrier of language and financial difficulty. Today, he confidently teaches in English and interacts with students. VICTORY has helped Kamal not only is supporting his family but also in grooming his personality.
Reehan Mirza lives with his Sister. He was sent to Government Boarding School in Pune as his mother could not answer his questions related to her job as a commercial sex worker. After his mother expired in 2005, he worked at a phone booth & in a courier company. VICTORY conducted classes at his NGO 'Prerana' from where he was chosen to be a part of the VICTORY Dance Team in 2008. He became passionate about dancing and wanted to make it as his career. Today, he is an Instructor with VICTORY. He also holds an administrative job at ‘Prerana’.
Shahnawaaz Shaikh is physically challenged and has been on calipers since the age of seven. He lives with his mother and brother. Currently studying in school, he occupies himself post school hours with his two favorite recreational activities; dance and painting. Today, along with performing with Shiamak’s Victory on Wheels Team, he also earns well through his paintings. Embodying Victory’s motto, ‘Have Spirit. Will Triumph’ Shahnawaaz is an assistant dance instructor with Victory’s Dance as Therapy classes.
Yoginder Singh (Monu)
Monu joined VICTORY as a part of Bhavya Kaul Scholarship class in Delhi. He got selected for the SHIAMAK Dance Team for Zangoora - The Gypsy Prince at the Kingdom of Dreams, Gurgaon and has performed over one thousands shows. Today, Monu earns and supports his family through dance and is living the life of a professional dancer.
Vishwanath Mokashi (Vishu)
Vishu was just a sixteen year old when he decided to take part in a dance competition through an NGO called ‘Dream India’. That was the first time he danced and won the first prize. He received a one year scholarship at Shiamak’s Victory Arts Foundation. This is how he found his passion for dance. Since then he became a part of the Victory Dance Team and performed at shows. He auditioned for Shiamak’s One Year Dance Certification Program and was slected for the same. He went on to win ‘Best Technique’ and received the award for the ‘Best Student’. Today is a part of The Shiamak Davar Dance Company. Vishu lost his father when he was ten years old and his mother brought him up. She worked day and night to support his brother and him. Vishu used to work as a newspaper and milk delivery boy in the mornings before going to school. Today, he has made his passion his profession and supports his family financially through dance.

Through various programs, VICTORY empowers individuals with confidence and self-belief.
Donations are utilized to fund dance as therapy programs, classes, performances and events for the underprivileged, vulnerable to HIV/AIDS or with special needs thus empowering them through the power of dance and the performing arts. VICTORY also provides support towards education and medical assistance to the poor and the needy.
